Pillow Talk
Sewing machine in good working order, remember to bring the cords, foot pedal, extra bobbins and ¼” foot, knee lift and walking foot.
You should know how to operate your machine before you come to class. Remember to bring the manual.
Please be sure your sewing machine has been recently cleaned and oiled.
Patterns will be provided in class
Rotary cutter with a new or fairly new blade
A 6.5” x 24” ruler and a 3.5” x 14” ruler
14” pillow form
Fabric for the Pillowcase
For a standard pillowcase you will need:
¾ yard for the body of the pillow
2” strip (WOF) for trim
¼ yard for the cuff
For a king size pillowcase you will need:
1 yard for the body of the pillow
2” strip (WOF) for trim
¼ yard for the cuff
Fabric for the Wrap Pillow, using a 14” pillow form
5/8ths of a yard for pillow
¼ yard for the pillow wrap
Scraps for the appliqué on the wrap
Batting about 8” x 30”
Thread to match wrap fabric and scraps
12” x 12” piece of Steam A Seam 2 Lite
Fabric for the Flange Pillow
¾ yard for pillow
21” square of very thin batting
Fabric for the Quick Change Pillow
5/8 yard for the pillow
Scraps for the appliqué
12” x 12” piece of Steam A Seam 2 Lite
Thread to match the scraps

If you want to put “fake” buttonholes on your pillow then you will need to bring your buttonhole foot.
Please feel free to bring a beverage, lunch or snacks. Don’t forget to bring your reading glasses if needed, a sweater and anything else you may need to make your sewing day perfect. If you want a pictorial record of your class bring your camera.
