This is a class for anyone who has recently purchased a machine and needs to
learn everything their machine has to offer, or for someone who has had a
machine for a while and wants to finally learn how to use it.

If you purchased your machine at Upland Vacuum & Sewing since 1995 when
Lou & Rosalie have owned the store, then you are entitled to take this class for FREE over and over as long as you own the machine you purchased from them. If you bought your machine before Lou & Rosalie have owned the store, or from somewhere else, don't worry you can
still take the class for $35 a session.

SUPPLY LIST: (Always Bring...)
-Sewing machine
-scissors
-thread
-machine attatchments
-pencil & paper

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

1st class - ( January 9th)
- learn to thread machine
-wind a bobbin
-change needles
-access your stitches

2nd class- (January 16th)
-make a perfect buttonhole on any fabric
-make blind hems

3rd class - (January 23rd)
-why would I use this stitch?
-gathering and rolled hems

4th class - (January 30th) -Quilting
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
-Bring two 12" pieces of fabric and
one 12" piece of batting.
-BSR foot if you have one
-Free hand darning foot
-Walking foot

5th class- (February 6th) -Double Needles
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
-double needle (2mm)
-2 spools of the same brand thread
-1 bobbin wound in one of the threads

6th class - (February 13th)
-More about stitches and what they're used for
-What different feet are used for
-More of Lou's tricks

7th class - (February 20th) -Memory
*This class is for machines that have memory, some basic machines
do not have memory. Call or ask anyone at the store, if you're
unsure about whether your machine has memory or not. *
-You will learn to program names, etc. if you have an alphabet and
how to access your machines memory.

8th class - (February 27th) - Embroidery #1
*The following 3 classes are for embroidery machines ONLY*
-Learn the different stabilizers
-The right way to hoop
-Threading for embroidery
-Finish a simple embroidery pattern

9th class - (March 5th) -Embroidery #2
*Bring embroidery threads of your chosen color*
-Choose a pattern to embroider on a T-shirt
-Choose a pattern to embroider on a towel
-Learn placement

10th class - (March 12th) -Embroidery #3
*Bring a wash-away stabilizer*
-You will learn how to make lace

NEW OWNERS- SERGER                                                           Instructor: Lou Wright

Thursdays, Jan 5th, 12th, 19th                                                           $150 for 3 classes

6pm-8pm

This is a class for anyone who has recently purchased a serger and needs to
learn everything their serger has to offer, or for someone who has had a
serger for a while and wants to finally learn how to use it.

If you purchased your serger at Upland Vacuum & Sewing since 1995 when
Lou & Rosalie have owned the store, then you are entitled to take this class as
many times as you want, with the machine that you purchased from them, for FREE. If you bought your serger before Lou & Rosalie have owned the store, or from somewhere else, don't worry you can still take the class for $50 a session.

Class Policy

To hold your spot we expect class fees AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION. We accept Visa, Master Card, and Discover. We gladly allow cancellations with a minimum of 5 days notification for a full refund. There will be no cash refunds or credits after that time. If we cancel because of low sign ups a full refund or credit will be given.
Please no children or guests in class unless registered students.
Once registered, a supply list will be provided so that you can prepare before class. Supplies from your list may also be purchased at the store for a 10% discount.
Each student must have an original legal copy of patterns or books. Absolutely NO copies or sharing.

Private Sewing Classes are available by appointment for $35/hour.
Private Software Classes are available by appointment for $50/hour.
