We've finally recovered from Road to California in January! It was an extremely busy week for us, but it's always worth it and full of fun as much as hardwork.  We shared the Bernina booth with Mel's Sewing like always, and this was the first year we included fabric in the booth. We had the Marblehead collection which was a huge hit.  Lou was also in charge of monitering the classrooms, which is always fun.  Below are a couple pictures we managed to snap.

Our customer Jan Kerr made this elegant christmas quilt, and brought it in the store to share! The quilt pattern, along with the black applique and embroider pieces were part of the OESD Holiday Collections for 2011, (Collection #1, Silhouette Quilts.) Of course, Jans' quilt is ten times more beautiful than the pictures on the collection!

Lou finished her Winter Window, and we have to share that as well. It came out absolutely gorgeous. The entire thing is an embroidery pattern from OESD.

The same pattern also had a redwork embroidery which Lou embroidered on our new faux-suede.  The picture came out a little blurry, but if you come in the store be sure to ask to see it.

Judy has also been playing with our new faux-leathers, and she embroidered OESD's Chrysanthemums... She plans on turning it into a pillow.

The article about Friendship Quilters and our store in the Daily Bulletin was published! It was a very nice article, and we hope you all got to read it.

We recently stepped outside of what we normally pick when buying fabric for the store, and got a bit adventurous. We have a few large rolls of faux-suede and faux-leather that we just couldn't resist once we saw them. They would make beautiful purses, wallets, jackets, pillow backs, etc...

A special thanks to U.S. Bank on Foothill and Euclid, for the month of December they selected our store to have a table set up in their branch.

We had a special treat this morning to wrap up this entry. As many of you will remember we had a flood in the store last Spring that destroyed a lot of our product, including a large amount of fabric. One of our very good customers, Linda Seehy took the soaked fabric home and washed it. Then her and her quilt group, Friendship Quilts, sewed several quilts that they'll donate to Hospice.  Today the quilt group came into our store to show all the wonderful quilts they completed using the fabric. We were amazed what their endless creativity and wonderful hearts could produce using the donated fabric and scraps from their stash.  The newspaper, Press Telegram came to do a story on the quilts, and to take several pictures, and we managed to snap some ourselves... Be sure to watch for the story in the newspaper!

We recently held our Special 830 Class for most of our proud 830 customers.  The class lasted all day Saturday and Sunday, and filled up so quickly that we ran out of room. We are planning to reschedule this class again for all of our customers that couldn't make it this time. So hold tight....Included below are a few snapshots we managed to catch of the class.

In other news, we just ordered a TON of the new Hoffman batik line. They're due to start arriving this month, so keep an eye out for the delicious new additions that will be in the store shortly. We also ordered the 6 new flavors of Bali Pops which will arrive in December. (Bali Pops are 40 strips of fabric that are 2 1/2" x 44".)

Just a reminder to our Block of the Month students, due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, class will meet on the THIRD saturday this month, instead of the 4th Saturday like usual.  So we'll see you ladies on the 19th of this month for blocks 7 & 8

Any current club members, interested in signing up again, for their club in the year 2012,  are guaranteed a spot in their club with paid registration before December 1st.  After December 1st, it will be open registration for any new members interested in joining.  Spots are limited so hurry in if you're interested.

We are pleased to introduce the new 830 club this upcoming year. This club will meet on the second Tuesday every other month. First club meeting is Feburary 14th, 10am-12:30pm, or 2-4:30pm. We'd like to finish this entry by showing off a beautiful memory quilt that our customer, Karen Montgomery made for her mother's 80th birthday.
