New Owners Classes

10-12am or 6-8pm

These are the classes that come free with any sewing machine purchased from Upland Vacuum & Sewing while the current owners have owned the business.

In these classes you will learn how to work your machine, and you will learn everything your machine is capable of doing to insure that you get your moneys worth.

There are 10 classes in each series of classes. The number of classes you will need to take varies with each machine.
-If your machine does embroidery, you will take all 10 classes.
-If your machine has an alphabet or memory you will take 7 classes.
-If your machine does NOT have an alphabet or memory you will take 6 classes.

If you bought your machine from the current owners, you can take these classes as many times as you wish, for free, for as long as you own that machine. If you didn't buy your machine from us but you have an older machine, you may purchase the series of classes for $350.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

1st class
- learn to thread machine
-wind a bobbin
-change needles
-access your stitches

2nd class
-make a perfect buttonhole on any fabric
-make blind hems

3rd class
-why would I use this stitch?
-gathering and rolled hems

4th class -Quilting
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
-Bring two 12" squares of fabric and
one 12" square of batting.
-BSR foot if you have one
-Free hand darning foot
-Walking foot

5th class
-More about stitches and what they’re used for
-What different feet are used for
-Lou’s tricks

6th class -Double Needles
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
-double needle (2mm)
-2 spools of the same brand thread
-1 bobbin wound in one of the threads

7th class -Memory
*This class is for machines that have memory, some basic machines
do not have memory. Call or ask anyone at the store, if you're
unsure about whether your machine has memory or not. *
-You will learn to program names, etc. if you have an alphabet and
how to access your machines memory.

8th class- Embroidery #1
*The following 3 classes are for embroidery machines ONLY*
-Learn the different stabilizers
-The right way to hoop
-Threading for embroidery
-Finish a simple embroidery pattern

9th class -Embroidery #2
*Bring embroidery threads in any colors you choose*
-Choose a pattern to embroider on a T-shirt
-Choose a pattern to embroider on a towel
-Learn placement

10th class -Embroidery #3
*Bring a wash-away stabilizer*
-You will learn how to make lace

New Owners-Serger
Thursday nights 6-8pm	Instructor: Lou Wright
	These classes are free when you purchase your serger from Upland Vacuum & Sewing during the time the current owners have owned the business. In these classes you will learn how to work your serger, and you will learn everything your serger is capable of doing to insure that you get your moneys worth. There are 3 classes in each series of classes. The number of classes you will need to take varies with each machine. -If your serger does a Cover Hem, you will take all 3 classes. -If your serger does NOT do a Cover Hem, you will take the first 2 classes. If you bought your serger from the current owners, you can take these classes as many times as you wish, for free, for as long as you own that serger. If you didn't buy your serger from us and you have an older serger, you may purchase the classes for $50/lesson.

Class Policy

To hold your spot we expect class fees at the time of registration, including phone registration. We accept Visa, Master Card and Discover. We gladly allow cancellations with a minimum of five days notification for a full refund. There will be no cash refunds or credits after that time. If we cancel because of low sign ups a full refund or credit will be given.

Please NO children or guests in class unless registered students.

A supply list will be provided so that you can prepare before class. Supplies from your list may be purchased at the store for a 10% discount.

Each student must have an original legal copy of patterns or books. Absolutely NO copies or sharing.
